The tomb

Dupre's tomb where the remains of Dupre were interred after he sacrificed himself in Ultima VII Part Two. Located in Trinsic, it is visited in Ultima IX.

Description[edit]

After the death of the companion Dupre and the return of the other companions from the devastated Serpent Isle, the city of Trinsic built a tomb annexed to their new paladin fortress, in which the ashes of the most famous man in their ranks were enshrined. During the Great Cataclysm the fortress was razed while – ironically – the tomb survived with only minor damage, but becoming abandoned in what now was wilderness.

Years later, the Avatar would have the need to visit the ruins of the fortress and find the tomb, so as to communicate with the deceased at the Shrine of Honor with the help of the Spirit Speak ritual.

Trivia[edit]

  • That Dupre's ashes can actually be found in Ultima IX, as well as actually speaking with his spirit, is one of the many continuity errors in the game. The important facts that the urn with his ashes was disintegrated in flames and his soul fused with the Chaos Serpent were ignored by the game designers.
