Festival of Rebuilding
The Festival of Rebuilding are festivities that took place directly before the events of Ultima Underworld II.
History[edit]
After the long and hard year of the Reconstruction exactly one year after the destruction of the Black Gate, Lord British decided that in order to raise the spirits of the people, the Festival of Rebuilding would be held in Castle Britannia and Britain to celebrate what had been achieved, with the Avatar being invited as a guest of honor. The festival did attract many important people from throughout Britannia.
From observations it can be concluded that the festival had a part for the common people, which was held in extensive fairgrounds directly outside of the castle, while in the castle itself a more exclusive celebration did take place. That strict separation put a somewhat interesting light on the still ongoing problems in britannian society and the class system. While little is known of the exact program of the festivities, a feast and following dance in the great hall of the castle were seen, and at the evening an impressive fireworks display was being held.
The festival did end aprubtly, when early in the next morning a massive blackrock dome cut off the castle and its inhabitants from the city, signaling another attack of the Guardian.

Trivia[edit]
- While it is a bit weird that Shamino is not being present in the castle, while Iolo and Dupre are, it can be concluded that Shamino simply slept in Britain itself (most likely with Amber) and thus was logically not present when the castle got cut off.
